Last week, at Le Poisson Rouge, DJ Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love threw down on the turntables, with Lord Sear hosting, for an unforgettable 20th anniversary show that was full of surprise guests. Despite my camera battery gaving up on the god halfway through the show, I still managed to get great footage. Stretch, Bobbito, and Sear haven’t skipped a beat with their comedic antics throughout the course of the show, which included making remarks about the crowd consisting mostly of men, as you’ll see in the video, and even “pausing” Buckshot when he spoke of his “relationship” with Stretch & Bobbito. Rare footage from WKCR 89-Tek-9 was also shown on a projector screen that included highlights from a 1992 show with Souls of Mischief. The list of guests and performers included a superfluous amount of acts that ranged from: DJ Spinna, Kenny Dope, DJ Eclipse, DJ Riz, DJ Homicide a.k.a. Hungry Jack, DJ A-Trak, DJ Premier, The Artifacts, Buckshot, Rock (Heltah Skeltah), Masta Ace, Raekwon, Masta Killah, The Beatnuts, Pain in da Ass (Jay-Z skits), Nice & Smooth, and Natural Elements. Much respect to Stretch, Bobbito, and Sear for an amazing night of Hip-Hop. Check out the video below for a highlight reel of the evening.
